“Robert, you are an exception to the rule”. These words from a renowned heart surgeon and Robert’s mentor in medical school, Dr. Michael Rosenbloom, dove deep into his mind. They accurately reflected the life path he had endured so far, as well as foresaw what lay ahead.

Robert was born and raised in Moscow, Russia. In his early teens his parents singed him up for an acting class, which he really enjoyed and did very well. The experience of stepping into another character’s shoes and exploring their experiences and emotions was something he really throve at.

A few years later he finally realized that he wanted to pursue an acting career. He had a burning feeling that he wanted to move to Los Angeles and follow his dream. However, getting to Los Angeles at the time was as close to being a reality as landing on Mars. Sadly, he was forced by the political circumstances in the country at the time to pick a profession of a doctor instead. It was the only option that protected him from being recruited into the military and sent to war.

This meant that at the age of 13 he had to start grueling studies of 10 to 15 hours a day to first gain admission into a highly competitive 2-year premedical college, followed by an almost impossible to get into medical school. He had to bury his dream very deep inside and keep working.

Eventually, he was able to get into the number one medical school in the country and at the tender age of 16 started a long path to becoming a doctor. The pain of depression from the buried dream slowly waned away thanks to the intellectually rewarding and emotionally fulfilling medical field. However, before long his life started to miraculously turn around.

Soon after he completed 5 years of medical school and had his career of a heart surgeon well underway, him and his mother were suddenly given an opportunity to immigrate to the US. That meant dropping everything and going.

And so, they did. They moved to the US in 2008 and started their lives anew, which was one of the hardest things they ever had to do. Still not letting himself follow his dreams, he decided to continue his path in medicine. That meant restarting his education from scratch. He was thrown back to the very bottom of the mountain that is the medical field. In fact, first he had to take English classes and pass TOEFL before his college applications could even be considered.

Fast forward to 2016, only eight years after he moved to the US, he had already gone through college and medical school with the highest accolades and was now a doctor for the second time. His academic achievements were so outstanding that he was invited to Los Angeles to work on his career of a heart surgeon in one of the most prestigious hospitals in the country.

His unique ability to adjust in the face of challenges enabled him to completely assimilate the American culture. His transformation was so profound that his accent disappeared and his colleagues refused to believe he did not grow up in the US.

However, several years later he came to a horrifying realization that medicine would never be able to fulfill his ultimate dream. He made one of the hardest choices of his life and resigned from his position. With his old life over and now living in Los Angeles like he always wanted, he knew that he finally earned his right to make a leap of faith and follow his lifelong dream of becoming an actor.

His talent was promptly recognized, and the offers came pouring in within months, one of which was being cast in a highly acclaimed TV show Justice Central TV alongside a three-time Emmy® winner Judge Cristina Perez.

True to Dr. Rosenbloom’s words, Robert’s life path is an exception to the rule, just as are his talents.

He restarted his life from scratch in a new country and transformed culturally to the point of completely losing his accent without any training in English dialect. He became a doctor twice in two different countries, which requires a rare courage to drop everything whilst at the top of success and restart everything anew, only to achieve the highest success at the new horizons.

In the short 35 years of his life, he has already made many of these leaps of faith and always came out on top. Such a multitude of experiences in his past provides him with an unlimited emotional palette and a complete power over it. With it at his disposal he can explore any role to the fullest depth, which makes the celebrated method acting his second nature.
